Global Event Management Group were chosen to activate and promote Souq al Jubail, one of the largest fresh food markets in the UAE.
Our team prepared a 34-day activation plan for Ramadan and Eid festival, featuring a wide range of activities and events aimed at not only engaging the souq customers, but also at promoting the state-of-the-art market to a broader audience in the UAE.
The GEM team created a bespoke mix of events and promotions which included daily performances and live entertainment like storytellers, stilt walkers, magic shows, kids arts & crafts, interactive workshops, stage shows, graffiti walls, bouncing castles, traditional Emirati shows, jugglers and mime artists.
The traditional Arabic décor throughout the event featured exquisitely lit archways and hallways, LED screens, lights and lanterns, which enthralled the visitors and provided excellent photo opportunities.
GEM team’s plan to achieve maximum press and media coverage for Souq Al Jubail through newsworthy events paid off when the lantern built by GEM broke the Guinness World Record for the tallest standing lantern. The towering structure stood at over 15 metres, breaking the previous world record and becoming the talking-point in press and media circles throughout the UAE.
GEM also managed the social media promotions for Souq Al Jubail, creating engaging content, scheduling daily posts and moderating giveaways and contests on channels like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
The activation proved highly successful in not only raising awareness about Souq Al Jubail throughout the UAE, but also in increasing the footfall for the souq during the Ramadan and Eid festival.
